The BBC reports that the Mametz Wood memorial in northern France, dedicated to Welsh troops who fought at the Battle of the Somme in 1916, is to be restored.
The announcement came after the Welsh Governemnt pledged £7,000 towards the restoration, which will be completed in time to mark the Centenary of the FIrst World War.
