The National World War I Museum will host a ‘Truce Tournament’ on the 26th December 2013.
Working with the football/soccer team Sporting Kansas City, the grounds of the National World War I Museum in Kansas City will see eight pitches set up on the South Lawn to accommodate teams of 3 vs. 3.
The tournament aims to be “a tribute to the time-honored story of the Christmas Truce”, where informal ceasefires and fraternisation between opposing forces on the Western Front took place during December 1914.
