France 24 reports that there has been anger both in France and Algeria that representatives of the Algerian military will be taking part in France’s annual Bastille Day celebrations.
To mark the Centenary of the First World War, eighty nations will take part in the parade on the Champs Elysées in Paris. Although the Algerians will only be present at a ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the participation of France’s former colony has sparked protests amongst some groups in both countries.
