Helen Vail has visited 100 of New Zealand’s WWI memorials and collected information and stories of the men and women who gave their lives in the Great War. She shares her experiences and research on her blog, 100nzmemorials.blogspot.co.nz.
Helen, a self professed ‘avid family historian with a special interest in military history’ explains the purpose of her blog:
‘In 2011 I started a personal project to commemorate the centenary of World War One. My goal was to personally visit and collate information from 100 World War One memorials throughout New Zealand.
This project is my personal way of commemorating those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Please follow me on my journey.’
