The Tank Museum in Dorset in the UK is marking the centenary of the first tank attack in history with a new exhibition ‘Tank Men: The Story of the First Crews’, which focuses on pioneering tank soldiers during the First World War.
The exhibition opens on March 22nd 2016.
The exhibition will include personal insights into the Tank Men, whose stories are told through surviving relatives. Alongside the personal stories, the Museum is displaying what it describes as ‘the finest collection of First World War tanks in the world’.
The Tank Museum’s Exhibitions’ Officer Sarah Lambert says: “The new exhibition tells the stories of eight British tank soldiers who were carefully chosen following extensive research in the Museums archives, allowing us to draw upon previously unseen materials – documents, images and supporting collections – to assemble their service histories.”
