The GWEAA has been formed recently to bring attention to WW1 heritage and Centenary commemoration in Africa.
WW1 campaigns in East Africa are somewhat neglected in the main body of Great War documentation, an issue that the Great War in East Africa Association aims to remedy with its newly formed group aimed at increasing awareness of military action in the region.
As the Centenary approaches the group hopes to educate those living and working in East Africa about the East African Campaign by the German military that ended in failure in November 1917.
