Derbyshire Lives through the World Wars is a research project which aims to support projects throughout Derbyshire to mark upcoming anniversaries from the First and Second World Wars, including the Centenary of the First World War.
The project “will seek out community groups across Derbyshire to find out what plans and support needs they may have to enable them to commemorate events”, as well as engaging the business community.
Derbyshire Lives through the World Wars states that it “will be searching through our local museums, libraries and archives and most importantly encouraging local people to get in touch and share information” and be researching what role those in the community have played in the conflicts.
