Never Such Innocence was founded in 2014 by Lady Lucy French, great grand-daughter of Field Marshal Sir John French, to give British children an opportunity to contribute to the centenary commemorations of the First World War.
To this end, Never Such Innocence runs a national poetry and art competition every year. Children from age 9 -16 are invited to submit a poem or a piece of artwork to the competition.
The winners will receive prizes for themselves and their schools and will be invited to an awards ceremony to be held in the Houses of Parliament.
They have created a resource pack containing information about many different aspects of the war to stimulate responses to the competition. They will send two free copies to any school that asks; but the pack may also be downloaded from their website here.
