VolksliederArchiv has launched a project to collect and share folk songs originating from the conflict. The goal of this project is to show a more popular perspective of the First World War.
It will depict the changing trends in the war, from the initial euphoria for war to the fustration that ended the German monarchy and created the republik. The project intends to show the widespread experiences and sentiments of the war, from hunger to protests, that occured during the four years of conflict.
