An article in The Guardian highlights a total of six films centred around the Gallipoli Campaign – or the Battle of Çanakkale as it is known in Turkey – either recently released or to be released in time for the Centenary of the landings in 2015.
The article suggests that the amount of films – all products of the Turkish cinema industry – to be released over the next few years may cause “battle fatigue” for audiences, but are also a sign of a “a healthy domestic market for Turkish products”.
