Illuminated vigils are planned for war cemeteries in Northern France on Armistice eve 2018 to mark the return of peace a century ago, La Voix du Nord newspaper reports.
250 sites have been identified for lighting in the Arras/Artois region on the night of November 10/11.
The senior French official behind the idea tells the paper that he wants to show those who lie there: “The sacrifice of your lives has not been in vain.”
